Bill Collins Scholarship
The Collins Scholarship honors William J. Collins. Bill was a graduate of Northeastern University class of 1956. He joined the US Army Corp of Engineers as a Second Lieutenant and worked for Bethlehem Steel handling mill sales for pipe and reinforcing steel. Bill joined Barker Steel in December of 1972 as Vice President of Sales and retired in June of 1991. Bill was active with the Civil Engineering Department at Northeastern University, Wentworth Institute and others with hands-on workshops on construction practices in the field of reinforcing steel. He was active in the Pilgrim Chapter of CRSI, President of the Mass Building Congress in 1982 and 1983 and served on the CRSI Education Committee along with Tony Limbardo and others who played a large role in shaping the concept of the CRSI Foundation and its role with Educational Community.
